Assessment and Consultation

The assessment team at Dewey Dyslexia is dedicated to supporting students with dyslexia by providing
comprehensive psychoeducational assessment and consultation services.

Our Evaluation Process

The first step to supporting a student with reading or any other possible learning difficulties is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation. The information gathered from this evaluation will assess the child or adolescent’s learning potential and identify whether they have any processing deficits that are impacting their academic growth and development.

Through the assessment process, the assessment team will be able to understand if the child or adolescent is able to effectively read, write, listen/speak, and solve math
problems within expected levels for their age/grade. If any learning delays are discovered in the process, the team will make recommendations for useful accommodations, strategies, and/or interventions.

Our evaluation process is comprehensive and individualized, designed to provide parents and educators the information they need to make informed decisions about their child’s education. We offer a variety of assessment services, including:

  • Intellectual testing (IQ test)
  • Information processing tests
  • Standardized reading and writing tests
  • Curriculum-based reading and writing tests
  • Oral language assessment

Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their learning differences.

If you are concerned that your child may have dyslexia, please contact us to schedule a consultation. We will happily answer your questions and discuss your child’s needs.

“I am committed to providing a comprehensive evaluation to identify whether a child has dyslexia or other learning disorders related to reading. I wish that every child loved to read but for some, the process is so arduous and painful. My personal goal is to figure out what is holding the child back from achieving their personal potential.”
